Preferred Energy Incorporated (PEI)
is a non-profit organization that
initiates and supports development efforts and investments in renewable energy
and other clean development projects in the Philippines. To this end, PEI
provides a full range of financial, technical and policy advisory services and
assistance to both public and private sectors in these fields of endeavor. It
provides an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to the development of
projects, nurturing each project - from inception to operations - to ensure its
success. PEI also networks with government agencies in policy and project implementation matters; works closely with financial institutions to improve investment climate for renewable energy projects; and networks with foreign trade associations to promote opportunities for global trade.

Advisory Services.
PEI provides comprehensive advisory to:

Project sponsors and developers, in the identification of projects and analysis of project risks as well as packaging of viable financial structures.

Investors and lenders, in the creation of attractive investment vehicles taking into consideration their investment objectives and risk/reward preferences.

Policymakers, by stimulating policy discussions which encourage the adoption of practices and standards to improve competitiveness of renewable energy and energy efficient projects.
Project Financing Support.
PEI provides both debt and/or equity financing for viable project.
Network and Information System.
PEI networks with both foreign and local organizations, institutions and government entities. This network system paves the way for the establishment of valuable database through which development and investment opportunities may be identified and harnessed.

CDM-ASEAN
- The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Project in the ASEAN region aims to
support the implementation of CDM among ASEAN member countries through
coordination and exchange of experiences. In the Philippines, Preferred Energy
Inc. (PEI) serves as the ASEAN CDM Project Partner. PEI is actively involved in
CDM project identification and works with partners and associate organizations
in developing CDM projects in the renewable energy sector.

World Council for Renewable Energy (WCRE) - PEI has been recently accepted as a
member of the World Council for Renewable Energy (WCRE). WCRE is the global
voice for renewable energy. It is a non-profit, non-governmental globally
working organization focused on developing policies and strategies for renewable
energy. Its mission is to bring renewable energy into the mainstream of world
economy and lifestyle.

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) - REEEP is a global
initiative launched by the British government in the 2002 World Summit on
Sustainable Development. It provides an open and flexible framework within which
partners can take joint actions to promote the uptake of sustainable energy in
order to deliver development goals. PEI is the REEEP's focal point in Southeast
Asia. As focal point, PEI has successfully organized the first REEEP Southeast
Asian Consultative Meeting in the Philippines. Participants came from ASEAN
countries and international renewable energy and energy efficiency project
development companies.
Project Fund Management.

Management of USAID and Winrock International, Inc. - supported Renewable Energy Financing and Technical Assistance (REFTA) Capital Investment Fund.

Management of Winrock International Renewable Energy Project Support Office (REPSO-Philippines) including its
Philippine Windmapping Project.
Capacity Building.
Since 1995, PEI has been organizing and collaborating with local and foreign institutions to deliver training and consultation services in various fields of renewable energy.
