Embassy of Finland supports PEI's Iloilo Micro-Hydro Project

The Embassy of Finland in the Philippines contributes over P2.8 million to support the development of a microhydro-based village power and livelihood project in the municipality of Janiuay, Iloilo province. The project aims to increase a community's access to basic electricity and hopes to create livelihood opportunities, develop community empowerment and environmental awareness. As project proponent, the Preferred Energy, Inc. (PEI) represented by its Managing Director, Grace S. Yeneza received the check donation from the Ambassador of Finland to the Philippines, Riitta Resch (shown 1st from right) at the embassy office in Makati last February 21, 2006.
